So tell us more about the link between clothing and tax brackets. Does this mean tax evaders went naked?
Don’t really know, but the naked approach has a certain appeal. I’ll need to dig into it a little more. I think the idea was probably broader than just taxation. It also allowed the Spaniards to tell who was who in the various regional groups and subgroups. I’ll need to see if I can get Hernan to elaborate.
